Filthy Ritual

This is a story about a scam. But this isn’t any old scam. At the turn of the 21st century, set in one of London's most wealthy suburbs, Hampstead, Juliette D'Souza wreaked havoc on a number of people's lives. She became filthy rich, and one of the most prolific con women in British history. Hannah Maguire and Suruthi Bala, the soulmates behind the hit true crime podcast, Redhanded, are on the case. They speak to the reporters who travelled to Suriname to track Juliette down, one of Britain's leading shamans and the victims who came together in search of justice. All 6 episodes are available now exclusively on Global Player, and once a week on all other platforms.
Night Raid

Night Raid is a story about the tragic death of a Pomona SWAT officer … and the story of the man accused of killing him. Ask any public defender in the LA criminal courts to name the most complicated and heart-wrenching case in the past decade and almost everyone will tell you it’s The People vs. David Martinez. Ask the prosecutors and they’ll admit the case is tragic. But complicated? No. They say it’s murder plain and simple. There is no dispute that Officer Shaun Diamond was a man of good character whose death is horrific … or that David Martinez was affiliated with a motorcycle club that had conflicts with law enforcement. But Night Raid avoids a rush to judgment and considers all aspects of a very murky case. And in the process explores our own prejudices and preconceptions about cause and effect, guilt and innocence … even punishment and redemption. There are no videos of the raid and David Martinez isn’t an ACLU poster boy. He’s a family man with vices that may have contributed to the shotgun blast that killed Diamond on the night of October 28, 2014. In the eight episodes of Night Raid, we unravel the compelling story of The People vs. David Martinez - not just the events of David’s two trials but the reasons for the SWAT raid and the planning behind it, the relationship between David and the Mongols Motorcycle Club, and how the intertwined narratives of this story reflect larger issues in our judicial system. The series takes an intimate look at Diamond’s death through unprecedented access to search warrant materials and recordings of detective interviews with David’s family and other Pomona SWAT officers. Executive Producer — Kary AntholisHost, Producer, Writer — Molly Miller Night Raid is a production of Crime Story Media and eOne Entertainment. The podcast debuts on LAist 89.3 on Saturday May 6 at 2pm with a rebroadcast on Sunday May 7 at 7pm. Each episode of the eight part Night Raid special series will air Saturday’s at 2pm and rebroadcast Sunday at 7pm. The first episode of the podcast will be released on all podcast players after the second LAist broadcast on May 7, with new episodes airing each Sunday thereafter. The eight episode Night Raid series will conclude its run on the weekend of June 24. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Love, Murder, Florida

Jane Lynch stars in this crime and dark comedy podcast, reminiscent of Better Call Saul or How Stella Got Her Groove Back... with murder. Fargo-esque in its twists and turns of ordinary people getting mixed up in serious crime, this audio drama takes you for a walk on the wild side of Florida strange.
HOW TO GET AHEAD IN PODCASTING

Inspired by the cult classic film How to Get Ahead in Advertising, that episode of The Office where Dwight kills Angela’s cat, and several camp skits we once wrote, this podcast presents a ludicrous and deeply incorrect view of the branded podcasting industry. From naming your aviation podcast “Bombs on a Plane,” to receiving a cease and desist notification for stalking Samuel L. Jackson, to underscoring sad breakup interviews with sped-up circus music – THE JAR AUDIO EXPERIENCE ™ team is bound to steer you completely wrong as they brainstorm their way ineptly through endless pointless meetings. Think of their guidance as lessons in “what not to do” at each stage of the branded podcasting process. Stick with each episode to the end and you will also hear some apparently sincere advice from the @RealJARAudio team, on everything from choosing a podcast name, to finding guests, to picking out music, marketing your show, and more. Don’t forget to like and follow us wherever you get your podcasts. But don’t follow us anywhere else. That’s creepy.

Covering wide-ranging topics from intersections between art, politics, fashion, music, tech, film, law and finance, it will move beyond tired notions of what's right and wrong.

Resurrection

In a moment of fate in 2017, Dane is gifted a bundle of old love letters and theatrical scripts. They were written by a man named Daryl Allen in the years before AIDS took his life in 1991. Daryl was a bisexual man and amateur playwright who lived in San Francisco through the 70s and 80s. Along with the letters, Dane is given a task: tell Daryl's story and give his theatrical work the audience it lost when his life was cut short by HIV. Over the next five years, Dane settles into the role of detective, using Daryl's letters to track down his exes, his old friends, and his relatives. Dane is taken from Montreal to San Francisco, from small-town Kansas to the Vietnam War. As his investigation unfolds, Dane discovers striking similarities between himself and Daryl, raising questions about how the AIDS crisis shaped today's queer communities and launching a dialogue between generations. Part investigation, part historical documentary, and part love story, Resurrection asks us what we leave behind when we go. While HIV/AIDS is a major theme, Daryl's story proves that for every person lost to AIDS, there's a life story that started long before a diagnosis and is just waiting to be resurrected. The creation of this podcast was made possible thanks to the financial support of the Conseil des arts de Montréal, le Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, and the Canada Council for the Arts. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Dreamtown: The Story of Adelanto

What happens when a city on the verge of collapse tries to reinvent itself? How much will it cost? Who will pay the price? Reporter David Weinberg spent years following one city in California’s Mojave desert as it tried to transform itself from a city of prisons to a city of pot. And it worked…for a while. Until it, spectacularly, didn’t. From Crooked Media, this is Dreamtown: The Story of Adelanto. Coming June 7th wherever you get your podcasts.

ABC News Correspondent Kayna Whitworth brings listeners behind the scenes as she investigates the savage murders that captivated and horrified the nation in the winter of 2022. The King Road Killings, an immersive, reported series from ABC Audio, follows the case against Bryan Kohberger, the criminology PhD student charged with the murders. Free From Desire: Asexual in the City of Love

35-year-old Aline, who grew up in the city of love, has never been attracted to anyone — sexually or romantically. I Love My Kid, But...

This is a safe place for parents to get away from it all. It’s a cliche that having kids is both the most rewarding and the hardest thing you’ll ever do. And it never ends: just when you’ve figured out how a newborn works, the kid becomes a toddler, then a tween, a teenager and beyond. And kids don’t come with an instruction manual or an off switch. Sure, you love your kids, best thing that ever happened to you blah blah blah, BUT…Welcome to I Love My Kid, But… a weekly escape where comedians Megan Gailey, Kurt Braunohler, Chris Garcia and guests unload about the joys and challenges of being a parent, all the hell their kids put them through, and how they might reclaim some of the glory of their pre-parenting life. You might learn a few things about how to be a better parent along the way, but it’s more important that you get to laugh and enjoy three very funny people vent about parenthood with other moms and dads who “get it.” No child psychologists here, no educators, or noted experts… just three comedians embracing all the L’s they take on a daily basis and celebrating all the small victories that make it all worth it. And if one of them lets slip that they might’ve sent their kid to school without lunch because they stayed out the night before with their college friends WAY too late, that’s ok too. No judgment here.

Wilder

Jack Kerouac but make it a girl with braids. Carrie Bradshaw, but without the sex, and also braids. An American Icon. An American Odyssey. American propaganda. Violently so, in some cases. Laura Ingalls Wilder is evergreen. For better or worse. Since the first Little House book was published in 1932, generations of readers have flocked to Laura’s cozy stories of the Ingalls family settling the Western frontier. The series inspired a TV show, pageants, and entire fashion lines. Behind this franchise is a woman who experienced almost a full century of American history. She’d made her first trips in a covered wagon, and eventually flew on a jet plane. Laura Ingalls Wilder’s life and legacy remain as powerful, mesmerizing, controversial, and violent as the America she represents. In a country currently at odds with itself and its history could there be a better time for an exploration of this woman?

The Jane Austen Podcast with Alison Larkin

While fashions change and technology evolves, there are just some things about being human that transcend time. And the persistence of those human experiences is why anyone can find themselves in the timeless, romantic, and funny novels of Jane Austen. The Jane Austen Podcast with Alison Larkin brings a fresh voice to these classic stories. Hosted by writer and comedian Alison Larkin, each season will present an Austen novel with her award-winning narration and feature chats with actors, writers, and other fascinating people who have one thing in common: a passionate love for Jane Austen. Whether you’re a die-hard Austen fan or you have yet to be introduced, you’ll find something delightful – and relatable – at every turn. We are currently airing Pride and Prejudice. Elizabeth Bennet is not interested in marrying only for money, to the distress of her poor mother’s nerves, and Mr. Darcy is a man in possession of a good fortune and certain opinions about what constitutes an accomplished woman. Though seemingly at odds due to their (you guessed it) pride and prejudice, the complicated and slow burn romance of one of Jane Austen’s most recognized novels is not to be missed. Stay tuned for Emma, Sense and Sensibility, Northanger Abbey, Mansfield Park, and Persuasion! “Alison Larkin is a comic writer and performer and she approaches Austen as a satirist…she has genuine theatrical skill…sustained comic creations. The voice reveals all.” – The New Yorker “Listeners will be captivated from the first sentence” – AudioFile Magazine The Jane Austen Podcast with Alison Larkin is presented by Realm. Listen away.
